Swan Scythe Press, a publishing group located in Northern California, is committed to discovering and publishing the best new  poets in America today. Its authors have won many national and local grants, awards and  fellowships, and have distinguished themselves as artists and educators  throughout the U.S. and in foreign countries.        

The 2024 Chapbook Contest will be open for submissions on 1 March 2024 - 15 June 2024 (postmark deadline).

CONTEST RULES: We require submissions in the following format:


 *Title page with author’s name, address, phone number, and email address;


 *Another title page without any identifying information; book title only;


 *Table of contents;


 *20 to 32 pages of poems;


 *All pages must be numbered;


 *Manuscripts must be postmarked prior to, or on, June 15, 2024.


Failure to follow format rules as recommended, or postmark deadlines, will remove the manuscript from judging. Simultaneous submissions are permitted as long as you inform us if your manuscript wins another prize or is accepted for publication elsewhere.


*If sending via US Post, send your manuscript to Swan Scythe Press, 1468 Mallard Way, Sunnyvale, CA 94087 with a check for $18 made payable to Swan Scythe Press.

*Include an SASE for announcement of winner.
